The Scene
In typical neighborhood bar fashion, Mulligan's is a casual, unpretentious hang-out tucked away in a strip shopping center. It's where you go to meet friends for a beer, or play a game of pool, or satisfy your desire to be social without driving all the way downtown. Pool tables are perhaps packed too tightly into a small space--but there's always a video game or big-screen TV to distract you while waiting for other players to make their shots.
The Crowd
Look for lots of barflies who play pool enough to actually own their own cues. Mullets make an occasional appearance, but the crowd tends to be older and better behaved than some of Shockoe Slip's rowdier hot spots.

My friends from work and I go here every friday night. The bar tenders are great and the food is good too.

It seems the owners spent much time and effort remodeling the restaurant for the enjoyment of all customers. The bar still accommodates smokers but is now separated from the dining area by a physical wall that prevents any smoke from coming into the dinning area. I’ll take my kids there any time! And it now has wall-to-wall HD TV’s ! Totally the best spot in town to watch the game.
Pros: atmosphere, prices, non-smoking walled off from smoking, food.
Cons: my days are not long enough
