What People Are Saying About Mulligan's Sports Grille

The Scene – In typical neighborhood bar fashion, Mulligan's is a casual, unpretentious hang-out tucked away in a strip shopping center. It's where you go to meet friends for a beer, or play a game of pool, or satisfy your desire to be social without driving all the way downtown. Pool tables are perhaps packed too tightly into a small space--but there's always a video game or big-screen TV to distract you while waiting for other players to make their shots. – – The Crowd – Look for lots of barflies who play pool enough to actually own their own cues. Mullets…
Not the best...at all

Ok, so I usually only went to Mulligans to drink and play pool. Even then it gets so crowded you can't move, the waitresses are more concerned with flirting then with actually bringing you your drinks and the drinks are watered down and overpriced. In the past 2 weeks my boyfriend and I have gone in there twice for an actual dinner. (since the restaurant side is completely seperated from the bar by an actual wall). the first time we went, it was decent. Our steaks were cooked to order and aside from the slow waitress and overpriced beer ($4 a glass) we figured we would try again.
Second time we went, we had the same waitress. We were seated and our drink order placed, a few min later the drinks came, and the waitress went away. We waited almost 15 min to have her come back and take our order. A little bit later she swung by and dropped off our appetizer and dissappeared again...leaving us with no silverware. I had to flag down another waitress in order to get some. After what seemed like forever...our came the salads. Before we could even get the dressing on our salads...our steaks were being served. Not wanting to let my steak get cold, I pushed the salad aside and attempted to eat my 10oz sirloin. I ordered my sirloin medium rare...it came out well done. I was very dissapointed, but being that we waited 45 min to get our food, I was too hungry to send it back. The waitress eventually came back to ask how the steaks were and when I mentioned mine was way over cooked she quickly said *oh well, they tend to do that sometimes" and quickly walked away. My boyfriend and I were stunned. the waitress didn't come back until we were almost done...needless to say, she received a $1 tip and we will NOT be returning to Mulligans.
- Pros: restaurant seperated from bar
- Cons: terrible service, overpriced (owner more concerned with cute little bimbos running the place)
Totally the best spot in town to watch the game

It seems the owners spent much time and effort remodeling the restaurant for the enjoyment of all customers. The bar still accommodates smokers but is now separated from the dining area by a physical wall that prevents any smoke from coming into the dinning area. I?ll take my kids there any time! And it now has wall-to-wall HD TV?s ! Totally the best spot in town to watch the game.
- Pros: atmosphere, prices, non-smoking walled off from smoking, food.
- Cons: my days are not long enough
Great Sports Bar

Great sports bar in the Fan district. Menu is quite big and there is a lot of choices. MLB Extra Innings lets you watch any baseball game on a number of TVs. Golden Tee Golf, ping pong, billiards, Silver Strike bowling, darts, and Guitar Hero keep all the customers occupied. We've been there two years in a row on a Thursday before the Richmond NASCAR race and we'll keep going back year after year.
- Pros: Food, bar games, DirecTV
- Cons: Power went out twice
Pay As You Go!

Two years ago I went with my wife and ran a tab for dinner (two club sand. only) and we both drank draft beer and our tab came to over $120.00! No way did we drink that much! The next year and a half we paid as we went and never spent more than $75 or so. About 6 month's ago we tried running a tab one more time, and the same thing happened....our bill was $50 MORE than it should have been! Other people I mentioned this to said they have had the same thing happen. So make sure you "Pay As You Go" to avoid being over charged! But they do have great food and usually good bands on the weekends. If you want a table to see the band you must get there early to get it. The service is good as long as you are tipping.
- Pros: Great Food, Good Bands
- Cons: Overcharging, Limited Tables, Overcrowded
